Welcome to Gaffney's, a family run pub which has been a part of village life in Louisburgh, County Mayo since 1914. With its welcoming staff, turf fire and corner stove, Gaffney's is the ideal place to while away a few hours in pleasant company. Renowned for the quality of Guinness served, Gaffney's is deservedly popular with both locals and visitors.

In the busy summer months, sandwiches and soup are served at the bar, whilst coffee - Irish or otherwise, is always on offer. Children, under the supervision of an adult, are welcomed in the bar until 6 p.m.

Fishing licences for the local Bunowen and Carrowniskey rivers are available throughout the season - Charlie Gaffney being an agent for the Western Fisheries Board. Charlie is happy to offer his expert advice to prospective fishermen on the condition of the rivers, and the best place to fish. What better way to plan your day's fishing than over a quiet pint of Guinness or beer in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub? And at the end of the day, Gaffney's is a great place to come and show off your catch, or discuss 'the one that got away'. You'll find no end of helpful local advice from your fellow customers!

Welcome to Gaffney's

Sadly Gaffney's has now closed.

For undisclosed reasons the owner Conor Gaffney returned from New York one Friday and closed the pub the next day.

A sad day in Louisburgh.

Come for the beer, stay for the craic!
